Women Working Together to Help Children! LCWA Brochure CAC Brochure About Lake County Women's Advocates (LCWA) Lake Sumter Children's Advocacy (CAC) The Lake County Women's Advocates is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1999 to promote sociability and neighborliness in the communities encompassing the Lake County area. ​ Lake-Sumter Children’s Advocacy Center, intervenes, counsels and protects children of all ages against child abuse. We support the Advocacy with our financial contributions from fundraisers throughout the year and meet at various venues for lunch, which may include programs such as guest speakers, trips, fashion shows, games and other events. Our December luncheon is LCWA’s Annual Holiday Party, which is open to friends and family Incorporated in 1997, the Lake Sumter Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) is the culmination of our community's volunteers and agency representatives working together to provide child abuse victims with all necessary services in a single location. The Children's Advocacy Center is always in need of gently used clothing, blankets, stuffed animals, toiletries, school supplies, etc. A great suggestion was made to package these items in a backpack, which can then also be used by the children. ​ Our focus for collections this month is on clothing for elementary age BOYS and younger (underwear, shorts, shirts), and school supplies. ​ Be mindful that food goodies do not contain peanuts or peanut products due to possible allergies .
